Lori Harvey Says She Felt ‘Pressure to Be a Certain Size’ as a Model, Which Informed Her Own Brands' Inclusivity

Lori Harvey has used her modeling experience to help develop her brands.

In an interview with StyleCaster as the cover star of their fall fashion issue, model i Fight night actress, 27, talked about how important size inclusivity is to her brands.

“I absolutely felt pressured to be a certain size, especially when I first started,” she said of her modeling career. “When you’re backstage and they answer you, it’s all about sample size. You’re expected to be very, very tall and very, very thin.”

She added: “I’ll be honest, I was definitely aware of that when I first started, because I’m not a traditional model. When it came to developing my brands, I was like, ‘OK, inclusivity is number one on my list.’ ”

Harvey made her runway debut in 2017 at the age of 20, when she walked for Dolce & Gabbana at Milan Fashion Week. She has since appeared in commercials for Michael Kors, Valentino and Burberry, to name a few.

She also entered the world of acting, debuting in a miniseries Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist.

Along with her swimwear brand, Yevrah, Harvey also owns skincare brand SKN by LH — and she’s very involved. “I am literally a brand. Everything flows and flows through me,” she told StyleCaster, noting that her work goes beyond name and association.

“I do creative, product development, design – you name it, everything from Instagram curation to shooting content. Let’s clear up that misconception. She is very involved. She is a brand.”

The SKN by LH website states that their products are vegan and “formulated for all skin types including sensitive skin.”

In December 2023, Harvey revealed to PEOPLE that she was “more comfortable” in her own skin. “I think as I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more comfortable in my own skin,” she said, adding, “I’m just more confident in who I am. Now I just accept it. I accept everything. Take it all in and really own it.”

She’s also embraced how much she’s grown since she was a teenager. “Honestly, growing up, I always look back and say, ‘Wow, I don’t remember that person at all.’ But like, ‘Okay, I like this.’ ”

The first half of Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist is available to stream on Peacock, with the remaining episodes airing on Thursdays: September 26, October 3 and October 10.
