dispute

Aman Sehrawat competes under the neutral IOC flag at the World Championships.

The World Wrestling Federation has suspended the Indian Wrestling Federation for failing to hold elections on time. On April 27, 2023, the Indian Olympic Association organized a “special” panel and elections are expected to be held within 45 days. Unfortunately, the panel failed to do so and the World Wrestling Federation suspended the Indian Wrestling Federation. Due to the suspension, the wrestlers who were supposed to represent India at the 2023 World Championships will not be able to compete under the Indian flag and will instead compete under the neutral International Olympic Committee flag. If an Indian wrestler wins the gold medal, the Indian flag will no longer be flown. The national anthem will not be played during the ceremony. Medals will be awarded only to the wrestlers and not to India. Therefore, Aman Sherawat must compete under the neutral IOC flag.
