Amanda Seyfried has been named the 2019 global ambassador for French cosmetics brand Lancôme, but her accent is still a work in progress.
The actress, 38, admits that she is no expert when it comes to pronouncing the name of the brand and its products.
“We are Lancôme ambassadors, of course they will ask us if that’s true Lohn-cohm or Lan-cohm,” she says of the brand’s take on the popular trending TikTok “of course” video that already has more than 700,000 views and growing.
Her fellow ambassador Isabella Rossellini, who was Lancôme’s first face in 1983, a role she held for 14 years until she was brought back as ambassador in 2016, explains, “once and for all Lohn-cohm, Lohn-cohm.”
Seyfried then says, “We are ambassadors for Lancôme. I don’t speak French so of course I struggle to pronounce the name of the product,” before trying to pronounce “Teint Idole” which is the popular base of the brand. Rossellini, 71, responds by repeating the product’s name with a flawless accent.

News on the Lancôme team, Joy Sunday, 27, has her own funny moment when she says, “We’re Lancôme ambassadors, of course we have one too many Juicy Tubes in our bag at all times,” and then gives up. her stash of glosses on the table and applies a clear layer to her lips.
The Wednesday the actress, who was named Lancôme’s newest ambassador on Jan. 10, told PEOPLE she “exploded” when she learned the brand wanted to work with her. “I was jumping up and down and screaming.”

To celebrate her appointment for the role, Rossellini and Seyfried attended a party at the Park Lane Hotel in New York on Sunday, hosted by In style.

She gave an emotional speech at the event in which she said: “Someone somewhere said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And I’m lucky enough to have people in this room who have been looking at me since the moment I was alive. And there are people present who they still look at me with such love, pride, joy and support in their hearts. Thank you.”
Sunday continued: “We are all observers. So I think that means beauty is everywhere. Beauty is universal. We can all see it or we can all feel it and we can all be it. And I’m so, so ready and excited so we share this vision with the world together with Lancôme.”
