Amazon Driver Fired After Allegedly Attempting to Steal Customer’s Dog

An Amazon driver who allegedly tried to drive off with a customer’s dog has been fired.

Henry County, Georgia, business owner Terrika Currence told WSB-TV the incident happened after a box of produce was delivered to her home.

“As I opened the door to put the package in the house and the dog food, my daughter screams and says, ‘Amazon stole our puppy,'” she told the news outlet in a news release Friday. Currence said she immediately confronted the driver and began filming the encounter.

In a video obtained by the dealership, he is seen walking to a delivery truck as the girl’s voice can be heard screaming, “He took our puppy.” After Currence opens the back door, she records the interior of the vehicle and is heard saying, “F—— Amazon just took my fucking dog out of my fucking yard,” and keeps telling him, “Put the fucking dog back. ” The dog was later seen getting out of the vehicle.

As for why he tried to take the dog, Currence told Atlanta News First that he told her “the dog is beautiful and he would like to have a puppy.”

“But I didn’t think he was going to take my dog. It’s really hard for my daughter right now because now she’s afraid that every time the delivery guy comes, he’s going to potentially take my dog,” Currence added. Amazon spokesperson Austin Stowe confirmed to PEOPLE that the driver is no longer in the company.
