Amisha Amit Patel was born on Wednesday, June 9, 1976, at Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India (now Mumbai, Maharashtra) (Age as of 2023: 47). She started dancing and learning ‘Bharatanatyam’ when she was only five years old and became a trained ‘Bharatanatyam’ dancer. She received her primary education at Bombay Cathedral and John Connon School.

She made her acting debut with Rakesh Roshan’s Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai (2000). The film was a box office success. She became a rising star overnight.
In the same year, she also made her Telugu debut with the film Badri, which was also a hit. In 2001, she starred in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which later became one of the highest-grossing films in Indian film history.

- Ameesha Patel was booked under Sections 420, 120 of the CrPC in April 2023 along with her business partner Krunal for commercial fraud and check bounce; warrants for their arrest were issued by the Ranchi court. The actress and her partner have been accused of fraud, intimidation and check bounce by a Jharkhand film producer named Ajay Kumar Singh. In 2013, Ameesha and Krunal borrowed Rs 25 crore from the complainant for the production and promotion of a film titled Desi Magic; however, the film was never released and they did not repay the money. The actress allegedly gave him two checks worth Rs 250 crore and Rs 50 lakh in October 2018, but the checks bounced. On June 17, 2023, the Ranchi Civil Court granted her bail after she surrendered to the court.
