America Ferrera Dons Chic Tux at Governors Awards — See the Look!

America Ferrera brings her A-game to the 2024 Governors Awards in a menswear-inspired look.

Tuesday, Barbie actress, 39, attended the annual event marking the awards presented by the Academy’s Board of Directors. The ceremony was held at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles to present honorary Oscars to Angela Bassett, Mel Brooks and Carol Littleton.

Ferrera kept it chic in a tailored black tuxedo with a grosgrain peak on the lapel. She paired it with matching straight pants, grosgrain trousers and a Moschino bow tie.

Continuing with his classic theme, Superstore the star kept her make-up minimal, opting for bare lips and a fresh face. Her hair was styled in a bob, parted on the side, with one section tucked behind her ear.

Ferrera added a pop of color with short, red nails.

Her tuxedo was a complete departure from the form-fitting ice gray dress with delicate straps she wore to Sunday’s Golden Globes. The dress was decorated with 3-D floral motifs.

Her short nails were a muted, natural color.

While presenting the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Series on stage with Kevin Costner, Yellowstone the actor wowed viewers as he paid tribute to Ferrera perfectly learned Barbie monologue.

“You know, you have a scene that I really love. I think a lot of people really love that scene,” he said before delivering the lines.

“You know, ‘it’s literally impossible to be a woman.’ You know, ‘You’re so beautiful. You’re so smart and it’s killing me that you don’t think you’re good enough.’ That was pretty good,” Costner, 68, continued.

In the film, Ferrera played a woman named Gloria — the mother of Sasha (Ariana Greenblatt).

In an exclusive PEOPLE show shared last week, Ferrera wore her stunning outfit from Barbie press tour.

“I had many favorites Barbie fashion moments,” she told PEOPLE. “My stylist, Karla Welch, is just killer. We had a lot of fun together.”

Although the star had many style options, the one that made her feel like a “badass” was an all-leather outfit on Barbie press conference in Seoul, South Korea, July 3.

“I loved it so much,” Ferrera said of the Tanya Taylor top and Veronica Beard pants. “I mean, I loved so many outfits, so it’s really hard to choose. But I remember putting this on and going, ‘This is exactly how I feel.'”

She said she felt like a “badass,” adding, “I felt strong.”

“I love wearing a dress, but there’s something about pants and heels that make me feel tall because I’m 5’2″, so I love being in high heels, but the great look of the pants feels like it’s my true inside look,” she said. Ferrera.
