American Heart Association Declares Some of Charli xcx's Brat Tracks Are the Perfect Tempo for Hands-Only CPR

If Charli xcx Brat is still filling your playlists, you might be well prepared for an emergency.

The American Heart Association recently recognized Charlie’s hit “360” as well. Brat deluxe song “Spring Breakers” as the correct tempo for hands-only CPR — aka cardiopulmonary resuscitation without mouth-to-mouth breathing — since both songs are 120 beats per minute.

“It’s not #BratSummer unless you’re banging to the beat of ‘360’ by @charli_xcx to remember the tempo for KPR with just your hands,” the organization wrote in an Instagram post shared on August 27. “If you see a teenager or an adult collapse, call 911 and push hard and fast in the center of the chest.”

Fans expressed their excitement over the information in the comments section, with some pointing out the appropriate lyrics to the song. “ah that’s what she meant when she said, ‘I’m tectonic, I move, I create them, I shock you like DEFIBRILLATORS'”

However, one Charli fan pointed out that they “better not confuse this with ‘365,’” a faster reworking of the closing “360” Brat album.

Days after sharing the initial information, the American Heart Association took to Instagram again to post about “Spring Breakers” who meet the criteria for hands-only CPR. “We’re not ready for summer to end brats! Thanks @CharliXCX for the vibe and this life saving beat,” the caption read.

In the past, the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” served as the reference song for hands-only CPR. Recently, the American Heart Association declared songs like Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department,” Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please Please Please,” Chappelle Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” and Beyoncé’s “Riiverdance” as appropriate for life-saving action.

Since its release on June 7, Charlie’s sixth album Brat has created a cultural movement that has even made its way to US Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 presidential campaign.

“kamala IS a brat,” the pop star posted via X (formerly Twitter) on July 21, prompting Harris’ team to use Brat aesthetics for the campaign.

After scoring four Billboard Hot 100 hits with Brat songs “360,” “Girl, So Confusing,” “Guess” and “Apple,” in addition to performing several sold-out promotional concerts in support of the album, Charli took to social media on Monday, September 2 to declare, “goodbye forever brat summer.”

The next day, however, he appeared to tease upcoming content with Troye Sivan on X ahead of their joint Sweat Tour, which kicks off September 14th and runs through October 23rd.
