Amit Trivedi joined a band called ‘Om’ during his college years which performed at local gigs, small gigs and live shows. Times Music noticed them and decided to release their album. However, the album was not that successful commercially. Amit then started his career as a music composer, composing music for theatres, television shows, dandiya shows, live performances and orchestras etc. He has also composed songs for brands like “McDonald’s” and “Airtel” for a short period of time. He then composed music for non-film albums. He composed music for some tracks in Abhijeet Sawant’s Junoon and a song from Prashant Tamang’s debut album.

His debut in Bollywood was in the film Aamir (2008).

  • Amit was accused of plagiarizing the background score of the film Lootera (2013), which was heavily inspired by the background score of the Hollywood film One Day (2011).
  • There is yet another plagiarism controversy surrounding Amit Trivedi. It is alleged that his song “Nazdeekiyaan” in the film “Shaandaar (2015)” was copied from Coldplay’s 2014 song “Oceans”. But Amit claimed it was a complete coincidence and swore he had never plagiarized.
