In 2014, Amitabh’s friend Amartya Rahut introduced him to music composer Amit Trivedi. Amit took Amitabh on as a fake singer to present his music to film directors. In 2008, Amitabh made his debut as a lyricist and voice-over singer with the songs “Ek Lau” and “Ha Raham” from the film Aamir. His breakthrough came when Amit Trivedi composed the music for the film Dev.D. Amit asked Amitabh to write some rough lyrics for the tune. Bhattacharya wrote the lyrics, which were selected for the film. Most of the songs were a hit and earned Amitabh recognition.
Bhattacharya subsequently went on to write lyrics for many popular films, including “Housefull,” “No One Killed Jessica,” “Delhi Belly,” “Ladies V/S Ricky Bahl,” “Agneepath,” and “Luthra.” As a lyricist, he has composed many hit songs like “Channa Mereya,” “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,” “Bulleya,” “Kabira,” “Balam Pichkari,” “Badtameez Dil,” “Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin,” “Naina,” “Zinda Hoon,” and “Ghar More Pardesiya.”
