Amrita Rai is an Indian television journalist. She is the wife of former Madhya Pradesh Congress president Digvijaya Singh. She is a senior anchor at Rajya Sabha TV.

Amrita Rai was born in 1972 in Uttar Pradesh (47 years old in 2019). She started her career as a reporter for BAG Films. Next, she joined Star News as one of the main anchors. She then joined CNEB and worked briefly under senior journalist Rahul Dev before joining NDTV. In 2016, Rai resigned from NDTV and joined Rajya Sabha TV as a senior anchor. She was popular for the TV show “Sarokaar”.

Amrita Rai was born into a Hindu family. Not much is known about her parents. Her husband Anand Pradhan is an associate professor of journalism at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), New Delhi. In 2014, the couple divorced by mutual consent.
In 2015, Amrita married Digvijaya Singh, the former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh. She confirmed her marriage to Digvijaya Singh through her Facebook account, which read:
I would like to share with my friends that Digvijaya Singh and I had a grand wedding as per Hindu rituals. Later we also registered our marriage.
