Amy Robach reflects on a year full of ups and downs — but there’s one thing she doesn’t regret.
During an episode of her joint podcast with boyfriend TJ Holmes on Tuesday, the two shared their list of what they’ve learned in 2023.
Holmes, 46, began by noting that both had learned “a lot of lessons” last year, which led to them leaving their GMA3 hosting slots and go public as a couple. But among the lessons Robach, 50, learned was her desire not to return to the work of her past. GMA3 gig
“I learned that I never want to go back to the grind of morning television,” she admitted. “And I learned that I don’t miss the work, I miss the people.”

Holmes, who has co-anchored the morning news with Robach since 2020, agreed, saying, “I’m right there with you.”
Robach also said she’s “sleeping better now” because she’s “living authentically” and advised listeners, “It’s never too late to start, to start.”

Since launching their podcast on Dec. 5, the former co-hosts-turned-couple have been keeping the public updated on their relationship, which made headlines last year when they were photographed together while their mutual divorces were still fresh. In the debut episode, they made sure to confirm that there was no infidelity in either of their previous marriages — Robach’s to Andrew Shue and Holmes’ to Marilee Fiebig — both of which ended in the summer of 2022.
“We should not have allowed [and] I can say that backwards, so that people know about our relationship before they know about our divorces,” Holmes admitted. “If people heard [about the divorces] earlier [then] ‘they’re in a relationship, now they’re dating’, maybe an eyebrow would be raised or something, but it wouldn’t have become what it became.”
Describing their relationship and situation, Holmes called them “people who lost jobs we love because we love each other.” Robach then called his romance with Holmes “the most beautiful relationship I’ve ever had in my life.”

In another recent episode of the podcast, the couple revealed that they both wrote statements that made headlines when news of their relationship first broke, but neither of them ever shared the statements.
“My divorce is almost finalized after we decided to part ways. TJ and I have been friends for years and our relationship has only evolved in recent weeks,” Robach’s statement read. “I am seeking privacy for my family as we continue to recover.”
In a statement, Holmes said: “After a month of separation, I am in the final stages of my divorce, a process that has been difficult and which my family – for their sake – hoped to keep private. I have leaned on my closest friend during this painful period and very recently, that friendship has become more. Out of respect for my family, I’m asking for privacy at this time.”

Hours after the couple’s podcast debuted, news broke that their exes, Shue and Fiebig, were now dating as well. They were later seen together, and on a subsequent episode of the former co-hosts’ podcast, Robach and Holmes chose to remain silent on the reports, which he said had an “agenda.”
“We absolutely expected that to happen. There’s nothing we can do about it,” Holmes said, before sharing what he and Robach’s vision is for their new podcast. “But this place, this podcast, this platform is not and never will be… We’re committed to a place that won’t be about gossip, this won’t be a place where we clap back at the headlines.”
Holmes added: “We’re not going to get into that back-and-forth game because gossip is poisonous.”
