Amy Schumer addresses her critics with honesty and humor.
Instagram posts the actress, 42, has shared since her appearances on The Tonight Show and Good morning America promoting the release of the second season Life and Beth on Friday, they received comments about her “puffier” face.
“Thank you so much for everyone’s input on my face! I’ve enjoyed the feedback and thoughts on my appearance like all women have for almost 20 years. And you’re right, it’s puffier than usual right now,” Schumer wrote in a new Instagram post that included a poster for the second season of her Hulu show.

The comedian explained at the time that he has endometriosis, adding, “There’s some medical and hormonal stuff going on in my world, but I’m fine.”
The Mayo Clinic describes endometriosis as a “commonly painful condition” that occurs when “tissue that is similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus.” Symptoms can include painful periods, pain during sex, bowel movements or urination, infertility, fatigue and bloating.

“I also believe that a woman needs no excuse for her physical appearance and owes no explanation,” Schumer continued in her caption. “But I wanted to take the opportunity to advocate for self-love and accepting the skin you’re in.”

“Like any other woman/person, some days, I feel confident and good as hell and others, I want to put a bag over my head,” she explained. “But I feel strong and beautiful and so proud of this TV show that I created. I wrote it. I pitched and directed it. Maybe we can focus on that a little bit.”
The A train accident the star revealed in a candid Instagram video back in September 2021 that she had her uterus and appendix removed due to endometriosis.
“So it’s the morning after my surgery for endometriosis and my uterus is out. The doctor found 30 endometriosis spots that he removed. He removed my appendix because the endometriosis attacked it. There was a lot of blood in my uterus and I’m, you know, in pain , and I have some, like, gas pains,” Schumer said.

She revealed during a guest appearance on Examination by Dr. David Agus in December 2022 that she felt “like a new person” after the procedure.
“I feel like someone lifted this veil that was over me, and I felt like a different person and like a new mom,” Schumer said.
