An older dog from the shelter sleeps in a new bed for the first time

For nearly 15 years, Stuart’s dream was to find a permanent home and a permanent family.

Arriving at the shelter at the age of 1, this 14-year-old dog has spent his entire life in shelters. What Stuart needs is a hero, providing him with unconditional love and a warm bed to sleep in after a long hard day.

He was adopted twice, and after both failed attempts, he was returned, and since then he has worried that he will have to live in a shelter for the rest of his days. That was before he hit the jackpot.

In 2008, when Stuart entered the animal shelter, there were other puppies just like him that had spent most of their lives there.

Former employee of Friends of Strays, Inc. Emily Wozniak said this in an interview: “It broke my heart to learn that there are dogs out there 14, 10, 8, 5 years old just like Stuart. So I published my story [on TikTok] hope to find him a home.”

A video shared on TikTok went viral and gained quite a bit of attention from a woman who lives just 5 hours away. Stuart’s mother and Repo’s Rescue founder, Natalie Snyder, said: “The first time I got to know Stuart was through a video showing his admissions process. Stuart has many potential adopters available, but I knew he would be the perfect man for my family.”

The woman couldn’t contain her heart and drove to meet this old dog at the shelter. However, when she got to the shelter, Stuart’s availability magically disappeared, because according to the shelter, since he’s been with them most of his life, he should stay with them. in his remaining days.

Snyder didn’t buy into this and neither did the community. They pushed for the adoption, knowing full well that Snyder and Stuart needed each other. Snyder continued: “One day later, when I got home, they called me. They allowed him to be adopted and I was able to bring Stewart home.”

After being adopted by Snyder, Stuart’s life changed dramatically for the better as he didn’t have to nap on concrete or hear loud noises. Snyder also said this: “He loves his orthopedic bed and explores the garden to watch the birds. It was emotional to watch him transform and experience life on his own terms.”

Day by day, this 14-year-old adult dog learns to trust his chance to live the rest of his life happily and surrounded by love. Snyder also enjoys the company of his new companion, knowing full well that he will never have to worry about finding his permanent home again.

Finally she said this: “Stuart made me believe in the goodness of people. He opened my eyes to my abilities and, more than that, to his abilities. I’m proud to see him waking up every day and trying new things and being brave despite his past. He really is a beautiful dog.”
