Andy Cohen Apologizes After Brandi Glanville Accuses Him of Sexual Harassment, Says Explicit Proposal Was ‘Meant in Jest’

Andy Cohen apologized to Brandi Glanville after she accused him of sexual harassment.

In a letter filed Thursday by Glanville’s attorneys, Bryan J. Freedman and Mark Geragos, the former The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star claims Cohen sent her an inappropriate video back in 2022.

“Mrs. Glanville herself was the victim of sexual harassment at Bravo by none other than Andy Cohen,” according to the letter, which was filed in Los Angeles and obtained by PEOPLE.

On Thursday afternoon, Cohen (55) apologized on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“The video shows Kate Chastain and I very clearly joking around with Brandi. It was absolutely a joke, and Brandi’s response made it clear that she was in on the joke. That being said, it was completely inappropriate and I apologize,” Cohen wrote.

A rep for Bravo had no comment, but a source who saw the video told PEOPLE that the footage is comedic in nature.

“Nobody in their right mind would think anything Andy said in that video should be taken seriously,” says the insider. “It was very clear that everyone was in on the joke.”

“MR. Cohen was Ms. Glanville’s boss at the time and had complete and total control over her career,” the letter states. Freedman and Geragos called Cohen’s alleged actions “an extraordinary abuse of power that left Ms. Glanville feeling trapped and appalled.”

It is also mentioned in the letter The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip season in which Glanville participated. Former The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Caroline Manzo was also a cast member on the yet-to-be-aired Morocco trip.

Glanville was asked to leave filming in Morocco last January after allegedly going too far with costar Manza during a party, kissing The Real Housewives of New Jersey alumna several times during the evening without her consent and groping her off camera.

Glanville has vehemently denied any wrongdoing.

According to Thursday’s letter, “the cast spent the day in question drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana and, at the end of the evening, learning how to belly dance.” At the “production party”, Glanville and Manzo, 62, began “dirty dancing” with each other, with allegations of misconduct occurring between the two in the bathroom later that evening.

“We heard about the alleged ‘bathroom incident’ through press leaks, but Shed Media has repeatedly refused to allow Ms Glanville or her lawyer to see the footage in question; there is no truth to any allegations of impropriety,” her lawyers said.
