Andy Cohen Shares Behind-the-Scenes Look at Son Benjamin’s Birthday Celebrations: ‘Someone’s Turning 5’

The father of two shared a behind-the-scenes look at his son Benjamin’s 5th birthday party in an Instagram Story post on Saturday.

In the photo, number 5 decor could be seen scattered around Cohen’s home, including a giant silver five-shaped balloon.

“Someone’s turning 5,” Cohen, 55, captioned the photo.

Cohen, who is also father to 21-month-old daughter Lucy Eva, had Benjamin via surrogate on February 4, 2019.

Earlier this week, Watch what’s happening live! The host revealed that his eldest child informed him of a new way he can tell fans to leave him alone in public. In a clip from Cohen’s Dad’s diaries podcast shared on Instagram, Cohen hilariously recounted how Ben pitched him the idea.

“Ben says, ‘Next time someone comes up to me and says, ‘Are you Andy Cohen?’ you know what I’m going to say?’ I say, ‘What?’ Cohen said.

“He says, ‘Get out of here!’ I said, ‘OK.’ And I made the mistake of laughing. And when they laugh, it makes them think, ‘Oh, this is a good idea.’ So I said, ‘No, let’s work this out,'” he continued.

Cohen said he instead encouraged his son to say, “He’s my dad, can we have our privacy,” but Ben didn’t believe it.

“So the second time we get it, we do three steps. Some guy walks up, ‘Hey, are you Andy Cohen? Can I get a selfie?’ Ben said, ‘Get out of here,'” Cohen recalled.

These days, Cohen is not only enjoying fatherhood, but he’s also applauding his friends for being good dads.

During a recent CNN New Year’s broadcast, Cohen praised friend Anderson Cooper, calling him “such a great dad” and “so thoughtful [father].” Cooper is father to sons Wyatt Morgan, 3, and Sebastian Luke, 1, with ex Benjamin Maisani.

“I’m really amazed watching you with the kids. You’re so present, it’s really cool,” Cohen said.
