Angel and Dick Strawbridge reflect on Escape to the Chateau following Channel 4 fallout

Angel and Dick Strawbridge look back on their Escape to the Chateau days in a new Instagram post. Taking to the platform on Friday, the pair – who previously worked with Channel 4 to document their DIY journey at home – revealed some throwback photos from the show’s seventh season, which is set to take place in 2020.

Writing a heartfelt message, the caption explained: “This week’s Chateau harvest update took us on a trip down memory lane…back to Series 7 and the incredible bounty produced in the Walled Garden.”

The leaked photos, which also feature Angel and Dick’s children Arthur and Dorothy, captured one of the family’s sunny days in the walled garden they use to grow fresh fruit and vegetables. Click on the video below for a closer look at the green outdoor space…

Sparking a backlash from fans, many were quick to respond to Angel and Dick’s nostalgic post. “Beautiful family memories,” wrote one. “I miss watching you on TV!” added another. Meanwhile, a third replied: “I miss your show. I’m so happy you’re all doing well.”

From 2016 to 2022, the Strawbridges worked with Channel 4 on their DIY series, Escape to The Chateauhowever, their partnership has since ended.

In May, it was revealed that the broadcaster had ended its cooperation with the Strawbridges. The decision was made after an independent investigation was launched into Dick and Angelo’s behavior on the show, according to Deadline. It was reported that concerns were initially raised by Two Rivers Media – the production company behind it Escape to the Chateau franchise.

It was also reported that the couple had been at odds with producers, with an independent human resources expert conducting an investigation that included interviewing producers and crew members.

By the end of May, Angel was embroiled in another story that made headlines after an audio recording of her verbally abusive to a crew member was leaked to the media. The Strawbridges responded with a post on Instagram. “The Strawbridge family’s decision early last year was to end Escape To The Chateau,” the couple explained.
