Angeline Maria is an Indian actress and model. She was a contestant in the fifth season of the Malayalam reality show Bigg Boss.

Angeline Mariya was born in 2003 (20 years old; as of 2023) in Pariaram, Chalakudy, Thrissur, Kerala. She completed her studies with honors. She revealed in an interview that when she was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and bipolar disorder, she was on the twelfth scale. She cited her father’s behavior and cruelty as the cause of her condition and revealed that she faced mental breakdowns on multiple occasions, even after taking medication. According to reports, her condition was first discovered by her classmates, who noticed her obsessive-compulsive tendencies and sudden changes in behavior and informed her mother; at first, they tried religious activities, but after they had no effect, she was taken to hospital. She was part of a lawsuit filed by her parents, whose father was accused of sexually abusing her, but the case was later settled.

Controversial comments about drug use
Angeline made some controversial comments after the premiere of Omar Lulu’s Nalla Samayam. The actress said there is no need to fear the police if someone uses M (ecstasy). She denies accusations that the film promotes drug use and believes people can try it once without ending up as addicts. She was harshly attacked and criticized on social media and officials were under intense pressure to lodge complaints against her for promoting drug use. Later, in an interview, she changed her position and said that she made these remarks consciously to gain popularity and not to promote drug abuse. She said that when the movie was released, she asked many reporters to interview her, but they all refused because she was not famous. After the premiere, she saw reporters asking people about the promotion of drugs in the film. She saw this as an opportunity and deliberately made such comments. She added that she was not ashamed of the way she chose to become famous, justifying her stance by noting that it was the coverage and impact of negative publicity that prompted her to do so.
