Growing up, he built sets and worked on lighting and sound for the high school drama department. He attended the prestigious Oakland Art Institute in California. Interestingly, he did not study acting there but focused on technical theatre. He later moved to New York on a whim to visit friends and began living in Bushwick. Claude worked various odd jobs before becoming an actor. He worked at Whole Foods Market in Oakland for many years. Talking about the same in an interview, he said,

In 2018, Crowder stumbled upon an acting opportunity when she was spotted by Euphoria casting director Jennifer Venditti while walking down the streets of Manhattan in New York City. At the time, he was working at the Woodlands restaurant near the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. He then moved to Los Angeles to film the series. Later, his management arranged acting classes for him. Crowder passed away on July 31, 2023, at his home in Oakland, California, at the age of 25. The cause of death is unknown.
