However, he didn’t taste much success in the first-class format but performed well in the limited-overs format. He became India’s highest run-scorer in the Under-19 team in the 2004-05 season against England and was also the highest run-scorer in the 2007 Inter-State Twenty20 tournament. He has played for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). From 2008 to 2013, he made 15 passes and scored 24 points in the 2010 semi-final against Deccan Chargers. In 2012, he scored 18 points from 6 balls in a fierce match against Rajasthan Royals. In 2014, he was acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a huge sum. However, he only played one game in that contest. In February 2005, he scored 143 runs in the U-19 match against England at Kanchanjungwa Krirangan in Siliguri. England batted first and scored 228 runs for 9 in 50 overs. In response, when India struck out, they kept losing wickets and Srikanth was the one who played attacking cricket and led his team to victory. He last played for Tamil Nadu in February 2019. Thereafter, he missed the entire 2019-20 India domestic season from the starting XI. In the same year, he also represented the Tirupurtamijans in the popular 2019 Tamil Nadu Premier League season.
