Ankush Bhardwaj was born on Friday, 11 December 1992 (29 years old; as of 2021) in Kotgarh, a small village in Kumarsain sub-division of Shimla district in Himachal Pradesh. He attended Eno Public School in Shimla. Ankush received his bachelor’s degree in commerce from Rajiv Gandhi Government Degree College, Shimla, in 2014. He then pursued his MBA from Amity University, Noida. He completed his postgraduate studies in 2017. Ankush received his training from Channa Music Academy, Shimla. His mentor was Vinod Channa, a specialist in classical, semi-classical and folk music.

Keratoconus – an eye disease
Ankush Bhardwaj was diagnosed with keratoconus when he was six years old. Keratoconus is a disease that causes light sensitivity and blurred vision. He consulted several doctors in Shimla and then traveled to Chandigarh for surgery. After a failed surgery attempt in Chandigarh, he consulted Dr. Nitin Bedi of Ohas Eye Hospital, Bandra. Ankush underwent C3R and Intech surgery at Ojas Hospital. After the surgery, doctors assured him that his eyes had recovered 70% and his vision would be fully restored soon.

In 2011, he participated in the “Voice of Himalayas” event and became one of the finalists. Later, he became the first runner-up in the ‘Himachal ki Awaaz’ event. He has performed at various music festivals in Shimla such as Kishore Kumar Nights, Rafi Nights, etc. Ankush won the Sangam Sur Sangeet Ka Singing Competition 2013 (Season 1), organized by Cedar Productions of Himachal Pradesh. Later, he became one of the top 10 contestants on Benadryl Big Golden Voice (Season 4). Amar Malik and Amaan Malik praised Ankush in the show. He sang the song “Sab Badhiyaa Hai” for the movie “Sui Dhaaga”. In 2019, he sang the title song “Ek Chup Tum, Ek Chup Main” for the TV show “Isharon Isharon Mein”. The title track is available on the SonyLIV streaming platform. Since then, he has also been a guest on two episodes of Indian Idol Season 11.
