Anmol Kwatra is an Indian social worker and actor. He is the founder of the NGO Ek Zaria, an initiative started by the “We do not accept money or goods” initiative. In 2020, he played the role of Shitran in the Punjabi film “Ik Sandhu Hunda Si”.

Anmol Kwatra started working as a social worker while in college and founded the NGO We Don’t Accept Money or Goods, later renamed Ek Zaria. Anmol provides medical assistance, food and other medical facilities to poor street children through his NGO. He mainly takes cases of children under the age of 13, but he also helps many other people in need.
Unlike other NGOs, Anmol’s NGO does not accept any money or items from donors but helps connect donors with people in need. He also frequently visited government schools in Punjab and distributed books, stationery and school uniforms to poor children. Although he works alone, his NGO has approximately 20,000 to 25,000 registered members (as of 2023).

- Anmol revealed in an interview that during his college days, his friends often called him “Baba” because he was used to giving lectures to everyone.
- Anmol revealed in an interview that his father used to conduct funerals for unidentified corpses, so he started an NGO. He further revealed that when he was in college, he used to raise money to help the poor. Some friends laughed at him for using the money to buy clothes and shoes for himself instead of donating to the poor, so he decided to keep things transparent. That’s when he decided not to accept any cash or items and asked donors to reach out directly to those in need.
- Speaking to the media, Anmol Kwatra revealed that he receives more than 2,000 calls every day and tries to help them. He constantly visited government schools in Punjab and worked hard to improve their conditions.
- In May 2019, when Kwatra’s father was contesting the Ludhiana municipal assembly elections on a Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) ticket, two Congress workers allegedly assaulted him and his father during the voting. After Kwatra shared the incident on social media, many of his supporters gathered at Shivpuri Chowk and blocked the national highway, demanding action against the Congress workers. Congressional staff were subsequently arrested by the police.
