Anna Kate Denver is one of three children of the late country singer John Denver. John Denver and his wife adopted her and her brother Zachary John Denver.

When she returned home, John and Annie had moved from Edina, Minnesota to Aspen, Colorado. After camping in the Rocky Mountains with some of their friends, the couple decided to move to Mountain West.
Anna grew up with her brother in Aspen, Colorado. Both are apples in their father’s eyes. The Denver family was dealt a heavy blow in 1997. Their patriarch, John Denver, died in a plane crash. In October 1997, John crashed his own plane in Monterey Bay, California. The accident happened while he was performing a series of landing moves.
