Wiki/Biography

Anshul Jubli was born on Friday, January 13, 1995, in New Delhi, India (28 years old; as of 2023). He has received a Bachelor of Science degree. In 2015, Anshul’s friend’s brother introduced him to combat sports. After completing his formal education, Anshul began preparing for the Joint Defense Forces examination. In 2017, he passed the written examination but was rejected by the Service Selection Board (SSB). Anshul said in an interview that he and his friends started watching videos uploaded on YouTube by famous MMA trainers such as Firas Zahabi and John Danaher. He also said that he often practices the steps and techniques taught by the instructor in the video. Since there is no professional MMA training hall in Dehradun where his parents live, Anshul cannot participate in formal MMA training. However, while preparing for CDSE, he started learning boxing at a gym in Dehradun as he believed that getting a certificate in combat sports would help in getting selected into the Indian Army. He said in an interview,

It was in the process of preparing for CDS that my friend and I stumbled upon YouTube videos of famous MMA coach Firas Zahabi and highly respected BJJ and MMA coach John Danaher. We study during the day and at night try to replicate the steps we learned from the videos. This sparked my interest in sports even more. “

Anshul later realized that he wanted to pursue a career in mixed martial arts and gave up the idea of joining the Indian Army after meeting a retired colonel who inspired him to join the Army. In 2018, Anshul and his friends moved to New Delhi for MMA training, where he joined the Crosstrain Fight Club (CFC). There, he was trained in the martial arts of jiu-jitsu, taekwondo, wrestling and grappling by national jiu-jitsu champion Siddharth Singh. Anshul said in an interview that because he was unemployed, he had to borrow money from friends and lived with three other people in a small room in Derry.

The cancellation makes me sad. My first thought was that I had to pay my friend back. So I contacted the promoter of the event and he gave me all kinds of excuses that he couldn’t compensate me. If nothing else, I asked him to give me enough money to buy a plane ticket home. The suspicious promoter disappeared from the venue, didn’t answer my calls, and even blocked me on Facebook. “
