Anubhav Singh Bassi is one of India’s most popular stand-up comedians and a YouTube star. He is best known for his YouTube videos Cheating, Waxing, and Hostel. He is famous among the youth for his nostalgic content. Retrospective comedy is his unique selling point. Most of his performances are based on his past experiences with his school and college friends. In 2019, he first released a video on YouTube titled Cheating, which made him an overnight sensation.

He attended Dewan Public School in Meerut and then pursued a five-year integrated LLB course at Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University in Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh. Later, he became a UPSC candidate; however, he was unsuccessful in the UPSC examination.

Before becoming a stand-up comedian, Anubhav tried many career options; he started out as a lawyer. Next, he opened a fast food restaurant but, much to his disappointment, failed there as well. He then worked at a law firm but soon realized that a 9-to-5 job wasn’t for him. So, he started doing open mic performances in his spare time. In 2019, Anubhav Singh Bassi made his YouTube debut with a video titled “Cheating”. The video went viral and made Anubhav an overnight celebrity. In an interview, he said:

Before I posted it, I thought, “If this video gets 5 million views, I’ll feel like I’ve accomplished something.” The video started getting 1 million views a day. When it hit 4 million views, I stopped watching it.
