The birth of Zayn Nadella
Anupama Nadella noticed that during her thirty-sixth week of pregnancy, the baby in her womb was not moving at all. The couple decided to see a doctor immediately. Shortly after the examination, the doctor performed a caesarean section for her. She gave birth to a boy who did not cry at birth. They named him Zain. Zain was born with cerebral palsy and is currently in intensive care and under observation at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Doctors said when Zain was born that he suffocated in the womb, which would leave him with cerebral palsy for life. Anupama gave up her career goals to take care of her special child.

- Satyanarayana Nadella fell in love with Anupama Nadella in Hyderabad Public School. She was his mistress at school. Later, both of them joined Manipal University and graduated as engineers. The fathers of Anupama and Satya Nadella were officers of the same IAS cadre, and both worked under the then Prime Minister of India, PV Narasimha Rao.
