Mad Max there are more and more Furios fans!
Warner Bros. Pictures released the second trailer for Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga on Tuesday, giving a closer look at Anya Taylor-Joy in the lead role, previously portrayed by Charlize Theron in 2015. Mad Max: Fury Road.
Starring Chris Hemsworth and directed/co-written by George Miller, the film is “an all-new original, stand-alone action adventure that will uncover the origins” of Furiosa (Taylor-Toy, 27), according to the official synopsis.
“As the world crumbles, young Furiosa is kidnapped from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of the great Horde of bikers led by Warlord Dementus (Hemsworth, 40),” it added. “Passing through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel ruled by Immortal Joe.”
“As two tyrants battle for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials while assembling the means to find her way home,” the synopsis concludes.

Miller, 79, originally hoped Theron would star in the prequel, playing a younger version of the post-apocalyptic heroine. However, after considering the VFX that Martin Scorsese used for his film Irishman (2019), he changed his mind.
“For a long time I thought we might just use CG de-aging on Charlize, but I don’t think we’re even close yet,” Miller explained in a May 2020 interview. The New York Times.
“Despite valiant attempts at IrishmanI think there’s still an uncanny valley,” the director added. “Everybody’s on the edge of a solution, especially Japanese video game designers, but there’s still a pretty wide valley, I believe.”
Eventually, The Queen’s Gambit star Taylor-Joy was cast as Furiosa. In the October 2020 episode of the series Happy Sad Confused podcast, she talked about finding out she got the part.
“It’s hard to put into words; I feel so humbled and grateful,” Taylor-Joy said. “The first thing that went through my head when I found out I was going to do this was, ‘I’m so excited to work so hard. I’m going to work so hard at this.’ ”

Theron admitted that she is a little disappointed that she will not be reprising her role Furious during the interview with S. in July 2020 The Hollywood Reporter.
“It’s a little heartbreaking,” said the Oscar winner. “I really love that character and I’m so grateful to have had a small part in creating her. She will forever be someone I will think of and think about fondly.”
However, in November 2022, Taylor-Joy suggested that there was no bad blood between the two actresses. At the premiere of the film in New York Menushe told PEOPLE that she and Theron will sit down for dinner and talk about filming Furious.
“Charlize was sweet enough – I think we both ended up in a situation where we both respected each other so much that we didn’t want to reach out before [to filming],” she said.
“The moment it’s over, when this press tour is over, we’re going to have dinner and we’re going to exchange war stories for sure,” Taylor-Joy added.
