Doctors discovered he had Wolff Parkinson-White, which causes the heart to beat abnormally fast.

At one point hers jumped to over 200 per minute.

It’s usually treatable, but former librarian Lottie’s second diagnosis of an abnormal heart rhythm is life-threatening.

She is considered medically unfit to return to the UK from Australia and requires three months of treatment and further surgery.

If that doesn’t work, she is at serious risk of a heart attack or stroke.

Lottie told The Sun in Sydney: “I was out for a walk and I felt very dizzy and my heart was pounding.

“The next thing I remember, I woke up in an ambulance.”

Before flying to Australia, Lottie was in Bali where she also experienced palpitations.

She said: “I put it down to anxiety, so I ignored it.

“This will change my life because normally I lead an extremely active life and go to the gym every day.

“I have strict instructions, I have to take four different medicines three times a day until I am able to go for another heart operation.

“I also don’t consider myself ‘fit to fly’ so I’m stranded in Australia.

“The next operation involves an attempt to cauterize the abnormal circuits in my heart, but with a more invasive procedure with a two-month recovery period.”

Lottie’s dad Dominique also suffered from the genetic disease Wolff Parkinson-White.

She added: “I took my fitness and health for granted.

“I have absolutely loved my active lifestyle and I am devastated and very frustrated that I cannot continue it at the moment.”

Lottie, who is with New Zealand business owner boyfriend Lewis Holder, posted a photo of herself in hospital wearing a mask.

She previously revealed how her experience on the BBC’s 2019 series The Apprentice took a toll on her wellbeing.

She said in 2022: “We are in a mental health crisis across the country and I am one of the people who have suffered. There were times when I didn’t want to struggle anymore or continue.”
