Battle of the Wari Tribe
In 2015, Archana Kochhar worked for a series titled ‘Ahimsa Resam’ promoting the ‘Make in India’ campaign launched by Narendra Modi. She launched Ahimsa Resam at the 6th Annual India Leadership Conclave of Indian Affairs in Mumbai 2015 with the aim of creating employment opportunities in the textile sector and empowering women. The award-winning designer actively collaborated with tribal women weavers of Jharkhand to develop ‘Ahimsa Silk’ fabrics. “The Warli Tribe” collection is inspired by the primitive stick figure art of the Warli tribe of Maharashtra.
