In HBO’s Euphoria, Angus Cloud plays Fezco, a good-natured heroin dealer who develops a romantic relationship with Rue Bennett, played by Zendaya, during the first season. The program, which is imbued with fantastic acting, excellent script and direction, skillfully conveys the drug scene and all the bad effects that drug consumption brings. Despite Rue’s earnest pleas, Cloud’s character stopped her from taking fentanyl, a highly addictive drug, in episode 2 of the first season. Many high-profile celebrities, such as singer Prince and rapper Mac Miller, have died as a result of the substance in question, as careful fans have pointed out. They also pointed out Cloud’s character’s strong resemblance to Miller, who died on September 7, 2018.

Is there a connection between Angus Cloud and Mac Miller?
Following the premiere of the program, Cloud and Miller’s followers took to social media to question their similarity in physical appearance. In a discussion on Reddit, a member asked if anyone else believed that Cloud and Miller had the same look. Most fans in the comments section agreed.

“Exactly what I thought when I first saw it,” one person replied. Another person said they felt the same way when Cloud appeared on screen as his character Fezco. Furthermore, many others praised the actor for his complete sincerity in his portrayal of the character. A Twitter user posted something similar in a tweet in June 2019. The Twitter user shared photos of Cloud and Miller, noting how Cloud’s Fezco resembled the ‘Swimming’ hitmaker. “I started screaming when I saw Fez [Fezco] take care of Rue, knowing that Mac died of a fentanyl overdose,” the person said. The tweet elicited a similar response to the aforementioned Reddit thread.
Fans want a Mac Miller biopic
One of Miller’s followers took matters into his own hands, starting a change.org petition calling for a Miller biopic starring Cloud. In the description, the fan said that several years had passed since Miller’s death and pointed out the lack of a film depicting the iconic rapper’s life on screen. The petitioner was inspired by the late NWA rapper Eazy-E, whose early career and struggle with AIDS was featured in the 2015 hip-hop film Straight Outta Compton.

Furthermore, the petition encouraged Netflix or other major production companies to develop a series with Cloud. Similarly, there has been a surge in requests on Twitter for a Miller biopic starring Cloud. “When they make a movie about Mac Miller’s life, Angus Cloud should portray him,” one fan said in September 2019. However, as of this writing, no movie has been announced in response to public demand.
