Ariana Grande Thinks Her Wicked Character 'Might Be a Little in the Closet': 'You Never Know'

Ariana Grande thinks there might be more to Glinda’s story Wicked.

While she and actress Cynthia Erivo spoke to UK publication Gay Times, they were asked about fans rooting for their main characters, Glinda and Elphaba, as a romantic duo.

“I think Elphie goes wherever the wind blows,” Erivo, 37, said of her green witch. “I think he loves Glinda. I think he loves love. And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with celebrating the deep connection they both have.”

“They really have a real connection. It’s real love, that’s probably why people send it, you know?” Erivo added. “Because what they build with each other is an unbreakable bond and love.”

Grande, 31, added: “Both trust and truth. Just that kind of safe space for each other, which all relationships should be, whether they’re romantic or platonic… Glinda might be a little in the closet. You never know! Let there be a little more time.”
