Ariana Grande is a few hours away from the release of her seventh studio album, Eternal sunshine, and they tease her that 13 songs reveal a very important answer to a burning question.

Grande, 30, sat down with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 and the two dissected the album, her inspiration behind it and talked about how she spent her time recording it Wicked was “healing” for her relationship with music.

Among the topics the pair discussed was the overarching story a story tells, because it “begins with a question and ends with an answer,” as Lowe put it.

“The question is: ‘How will I know if I’m in the right relationship, if I’ve found the right person?’ ” Lowe said, before pointing out that the latest track, “Ordinary Things” — which Grande previously teased includes her grandmother, Nonna — answers that pressing question.

Grande said she “didn’t realize” how neatly the song tied her initial questioning until she found a “voice note” of her Nonna talking to a friend.

“I knew that ‘ordinary things’ was the end of the album. I said, ‘This is the last song, but I’m wondering how can I put that button on it and make it land emotionally the way I feel it can, and how can I answer the question?’”

Ariana Grande revealed why she didn’t plan to release a new album until 2025.

After listening to her Nonna’s 30-minute talk, a clip of “a real kick in the middle” caught her attention. “And I said, ‘Oh my God, that’s the answer.’ ”
