Ariana Madix Says Boyfriend Daniel Wai ‘Opened My Mind’ to Having Kids: ‘A Real 50/50 Partner’

Ariana Madix may be having second thoughts about children.

In this week’s episode Vanderpump Rules, Madix, 38, talks to costar Lala Kent, 33, about continuing to share a home with ex Tom Sandoval, 40, which she says made her uncomfortable when boyfriend Daniel Wai came to visit. The conversation then leads Kent to ask if this new relationship has made Madix change her mind about having children.

“I mean, he’s the first person I’ve met that I’m actually like, ‘Oh, is that right?’ ” admits Madix. “I just think it opened my mind and eyes to a lot of different possibilities that I couldn’t have seen.”

In the confessional, Madix discusses how her past relationship may have been an obstacle to her desire to have children.

Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval discuss how he fertilizes her frozen eggs: ‘Are we even going to use them?’

“Looking back, having Tom as my partner affected my feelings about having children a lot more than I thought,” she says. “I feel like with Dan, I kind of opened my eyes to the fact that there are different types of partners that would actually be true 50/50 partners, or if I can only give 10% that day, he’s willing to give 90.”

In past seasons Vanderpump Rules, Madix was adamant that she did not want to have children. However, she decided to freeze her eggs when she was in a relationship with Sandoval, explaining her decision in a season 10 episode.

“Two years ago I froze my eggs and I was able to retrieve 26 of them, which is really, really good. Like, amazing. Good job, ovaries,” she said in the confessional in the April episode.

“My position on everything related to pregnancy [and] childbirth hasn’t really changed,” Madix added. “I just don’t like that biological clocks have the power to trigger anything. And those eggs, they are more viable as fertilized embryos.”

Sandoval has previously expressed his desire to have children, but seemed a little more reluctant during the conversation with the model.

– When Ariana asked me to fertilize her eggs, I was excited – he said in the confessional. “I said, ‘Yeah, sure, I’ll do it!'”

He then added, “Why would Ariana want me to fertilize her eggs when we may or may not have children, whatever she decides?”

In the conversation, Sandoval asked her, “Are we ever going to use these eggs for anything at all?” to which she replied, “Maybe, maybe not.”
