Armie Hammer Makes Joke About the ‘Land Mines Over the Last Couple Years’ as He Returns to Instagram

Armie Hammer is finding some humor in his recent controversies.

Days after Hammer, 37, returned to Instagram with a newly cleaned-up profile, the actor shared a video on his Instagram Story on Saturday showing him practicing with a mine press, according to screenshots of a post he made The Daily Mail.

In the clip, Call me by your name The actor can be seen wearing a white t-shirt and shorts as he works out in what appears to be a home gym.

“There have been a lot of landmines over the last few years… finally found one that works for me #landminepress,” Hammer captioned the video. Continuing his Story, he further shared, “Kidding aside, thank you all for the love and support.”

Since returning to Instagram, he also shared an Instagram post on Sunday of himself smiling shirtless on the beach, captioning it saying he had just flown to Los Angeles.

“When the welcome committee in LA demands that you take a cold plunge in the ocean as soon as you step off the plane,” Hammer wrote in the caption of the post.

Hammer has been out of the spotlight since he and ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers reached a divorce settlement in June. The former couple agreed to joint custody of their two children, Harper, 8, and son Ford, 6, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE in July.

The Social network star and Chambers, 41, married in May 2010. She filed for divorce in July 2020, and the couple confirmed their split on Instagram days before filing for divorce.

The director of communications for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office told PEOPLE in April that the Los Angeles Police Department “presented a case” regarding sexual assault allegations against Hammer to the district attorney’s office. LAPD initially identified Hammer as a suspect in an investigation into an alleged sexual assault in 2017 back in 2021.

Tiffiny Blacknell, director of communications for the district attorney’s office, told PEOPLE at the time in May that Hammer would not face charges, saying the office was “unable to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Back in February, Hammer spoke out for the first time since a series of abuse allegations rocked his career, speaking to Air Mail. In the interview, the actor denied any criminal responsibility, although he admitted that he had emotionally abused his exes. The actor also said in the interview that he was sexually abused as a teenager and detailed the suicidal thoughts he experienced following the allegations made against him in 2021.

Since then, Hammer has not appeared in film roles Death on the Nile, which was published in 2022.
