In 2022, he was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, a rare long-term neuromuscular disease, and was admitted to Mumbai’s Hiranandani Hospital. Arun Bali, 79, passed away on October 7, 2022, at 4:30 am in Mumbai. In an interview, his son Ankush spoke about his father’s chronic illness and his final days. He said,

My father left us. He has myasthenia gravis. He had mood swings for two or three days. He told the administrator he wanted to go to the bathroom. When he came out, he told the administrator he wanted to sit down and then he did not stand up. “
