Arush Nishank

Arushi Nishank is an Indian environmentalist, social activist, filmmaker and international Kathak dance advocate. She is famous for being the daughter of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.

Arushi Nishank was born on Wednesday, 17 September 1986 (34 years old; as of 2020) in Kotwa, Uttar Pradesh (now Uttarakhand). Her zodiac sign is Virgo. After completing his studies, Arushi Nishank went to Cambridge University to pursue a PGDM course. After completing his course, Arushi moved to Dehradun in Uttarakhand and settled there.

Arushi is an internationally renowned Indian classical Kathak dancer. She was trained by Padma Vibhushan Award winner Pandit Birju Maharaj. Arush has performed internationally in London, Germany, Canada and Dubai. While performing in Dubai, Arushi composed and choreographed the piece Ganga Avataram, which tells the story of the goddess Ganga’s arrival on earth.

As an environmentalist and social activist

Arushi has long been committed to the welfare of the environment along with his father. In 2009, Arush became the co-founder and chairman of the Spash Ganga Movement. The campaign was launched by Ramesh Pokhriyal and Arushi Nishank to raise environmental awareness about the growing pollution problem of the Ganges and encourage people to save and clean the Ganges. She promoted her campaign in five different countries.

In 2018, Arushi made his debut as a producer with the film “Major Nirala”. The regional film is based on a novel written by her father, Ramesh Pokhriyal.
