Ashish Kumar Chaudhary is an Indian boxer who competes in the 75kg category. He is one of the nine Indian boxers to have qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Ashish Kumar was born on Monday, 18 July 1994 (27 years old; as of 2021) in Dhahotu, Mandi District, Himachal Pradesh. His zodiac sign is Cancer.
Born into a family of athletes, Ashish became interested in sports at an early age. His brother and cousin inspired him to take up boxing. Kumar said in an interview about choosing boxing as his career,
I have a brother who is a boxer and a brother who is a wrestler. Watching them inspired me as a child and my family supported me. My father was already a national kabaddi player by then. The moment I took the plunge, he gave me the advice I needed to succeed at the highest level and prepared me accordingly. “
He further added,
Wrestling and boxing were my choices at the time. I tried wrestling but quickly lost interest. My interest turned to boxing. “
Ashish joined the Sundar Nagar Boxing Academy in Himachal Pradesh when he was just 14 years old. When he turned 16, he transferred to Bhiwani to focus seriously on his training.

Ashish Kumar’s father, Bhagat Ram Dogra, is a national-level kabaddi player. His father passed away in February 2020 due to a long illness. Ashish’s mother is a housewife. He has three brothers; one of them is named Sunil. He also has a sister.
Profession
Ashish Kumar started his boxing career in 2009 at the Junior State competition, where he won a gold medal. He then participated in the school’s national competition and won a bronze medal. In 2012, he participated in the youth national competition and the adult national competition. In 2015, he participated in the 35th National Games in Kerala and won a gold medal. Ashish made his international debut in 2018 at the International Boxing Championships in India. He reached the quarterfinals of the event.
Later, he participated in the Presidents Cup. In 2019, he participated in the International Boxing Championships in Stranca, Bulgaria. In the same year, he won the middleweight gold medal at the Thailand Open. He has since won a silver medal at the 2019 Asian Boxing Championships.
He then went on to compete in the 2019 World Boxing Championship. However, he lost to China’s Tohtarbek Tangratikhan in the 75kg middleweight competition in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
That same year, he won the Big Bout League.
In 2020, Ashish reached the semi-finals of the 2020 Asia and Oceania Boxing Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Amman, Jordan, and qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Ashish has been appointed as Tehsil Welfare Officer, Government of Himachal Pradesh.

- Ashish participated in the 35th Boxam International Championship in Castellon, Spain in 2020. But he tested positive for the virus during the tournament, causing him to withdraw from the final. Not only Ashish, but his roommates Mohammed Hussamuddin (57kg) and Sumit Sangwan (81kg) were also disqualified. In the end, all three of them won silver medals in this competition.
- Ashish considers boxers Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Floyd Mayweather and Lomachenko as his role models. Speaking about them in an interview, Ashish said,
As far as my role models go, I’m very inspired by all-time great boxers like Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Floyd Mayweather, Lomachenko and many more. I follow them through their achievements in the field. “
