Initially, Aslam Mustafa Inamdar played in Kabaddi competitions at the local level and was offered money as reward, but after he played for Maharashtra After Maharashtra played his first sub-junior national match, he decided to move to Jai Bajrang, a more renowned club in the town of Vasind. Tarn followed the advice of his seniors. At Jai Bajrang, he sharpened his skills and techniques and got opportunities to hold Kabaddi positions in Union Bank and Air India. Aslam Mustafa Inamdar made his debut in the Pro Kabaddi League in 2021 as an all-round member of the Puneri Paltan team. He scored 189 points for the team in his first season, becoming the player who scored the most raid points for Puneri Paltan in the eighth season of the Pro Kabaddi League. In July 2022, he won a silver medal at the 69th National Men’s Kabaddi Championship as a member of the Maharashtra team. Later that year, he represented Maharashtra and won a silver medal at the 36th National Games in Gujarat. In 2022, he was retained for a ninth season in the Pro Kabaddi League for Rs 20 lakh, where he scored a total of 150 points for the team with a 51% hit rate and a 35% tackle rate. In October 2023, he made his debut at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, as a member of the Indian Kabaddi team and won the gold medal. In the 19th Asian Games, the Chinese team defeated the Iranian team in a thrilling 33-29 and won the final championship.

- Aslam Mustafa Inamdar worked at a tea stall before pursuing kabaddi professionally. He comes from a lower-middle-class family and helped his family escape poverty after becoming a successful kabaddi player.
- In 2014, he injured both the tibia and fibula of his right leg while participating in the National Youth Kabaddi Championship. He needed surgery to heal the bone but didn’t have the financial means. Three months later, a government scheme helped him have surgery at a cheaper price.
- His elder brother Wasim did not want him to play kabaddi and focused on his studies, but Aslam practiced kabaddi secretly and eventually gained his brother’s support. In an interview, he said of his brother:
Wasim objected, so I played as long as he wasn’t there. I would see him in the distance and run to the other side and jump over the wall to get home. But eventually he will know when the seniors tell him what a good player I am. “
