He breathed his last on April 10, 2022 due to a long illness caused by pancreatic cancer. His last rites were performed at Mokshdham Hindu Shamshanbhoomi, Ceasar Rd, Amboli, Andheri West, Mumbai. After his death, Pakistani journalist, artist and filmmaker Beena Sarwar wrote on Twitter:
