NPR’s White House correspondent is Asma Khalid. She also co-hosts “The NPR Politics Podcast.” Khalid covered the 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020 elections, showing little reliance on the campaign.

She joined NPR’s Washington team in 2016 to focus on the nexus between politics and demographics. She covered Joe Biden’s run for president after covering the crowded Democratic primary during the 2020 presidential campaign.

Khalid worked as a reporter for Boston’s NPR station WBUR before joining NPR’s political team. There, she almost immediately found herself embroiled in one of the most difficult stories of her career: the Boston Marathon bombing.
