Election dates for the Assembly in 2023

The Election Commission announced on Monday that polling will be held in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram and Telangana on different dates from November 7 to 30. Votes will be tallied for the five states on December 3, setting the stage for the 2024 Lok Sabha election semi-finals. In a press conference, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar said that more than 16 million voters will be eligible to participate in these elections and significant efforts are being made to ensure an incentive-free environment. Unlike Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, where the Congress is in power, Chhattisgarh is governed by the BJP, Telangana by the Bharat Raashtra Samithi, and Mizoram by the Mizo National Front.

Rajiv Kumar told a press conference that there will be 1.77 lakh polling stations in these five states, of which 1.01 lakh will have webcasting facility. Women will be in charge of more than 8,000 polling stations, he asserted. After BJP national secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya compared voting for the Congress to throwing a ballot in the garbage, the opposition party reacted angrily, calling his comments an “insult” to the public. BJP’s candidate for Indore 1 seat in Madhya Pradesh assembly election is called Vijayvargiya.

The nation, Madhya Pradesh and Indore need the Bharatiya Janata Party today. State, state and city have BJP governments. What does it mean to vote in Congress? He said while speaking at a program here on Sunday evening, “Voting for Congress means throwing it (vote) in the dustbin kept at home?” Ashok Gehlot, a three-time chief minister, has a strong following that the party can use for another run for the post of president. Former Deputy Minister Sachin Pilot’s charisma continues to matter despite his marginalization in the state. It still attracts a large number of people, especially young people.
