REAL MADRID’s 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitan was interrupted after fans threw objects at goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
The game was stopped because the Real Madrid stopper was preparing to take a shot in the 69th minute.

One of the objects thrown was apparently a lighter because the referee could be seen holding it in his hand.
The second was a bag with an unknown object that Courtois got rid of from the field.
The official ran to managers Carlo Ancelotti and Diego Simeone to inform them of the situation.
He appeared to ask Simeone and the Atletico players to help calm the situation.
And after captain Koke tried to call on the fans to stop firing missiles onto the pitch, Simeone came and handled the situation himself.
The players went down into the tunnel and returned after about 15 minutes.
The score at the break was 1-0 to Real Madrid thanks to Eder Militao’s second-half strike.
The goal was scored five minutes before the break.

When the game resumed, former Chelsea player Conor Gallagher was booked seconds later for a cynical foul on Fede Valverde.
But the drama didn’t end there as Angel Correa equalized in stoppage time to rescue a dramatic point for Atletico.
