In May 2024, he filed his nomination papers as an independent candidate for the Lok Sabha seat in Karakot, Bihar. On May 22, 2024, he was expelled from the BJP after he decided to contest the Lok Sabha elections with the NDA candidate.

Akshara Singh and Pawan Singh rumors were rife till he got married to Jyoti Singh in 2018. After Pawan got married to Jyoti Singh, Akshara Singh accused Pawan of trying to sabotage her career. According to Akshara, she decided to end her relationship with Pawan after his marriage. Instead, Pawan kept pressuring her to stay in the relationship. She also claimed she received death threats via phone calls and text messages from Singer. After this, Akshara filed an FIR against Pawan Singh, accusing him of defaming her and posting vulgar pictures and videos on the Internet.
