Atul Prakash is a 24-year-old boy (born in 1994) from Buxar district of Bihar. He completed his higher education from Delhi Public School, Patna and his secondary education from Abhinav Public School, Delhi. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mathematics and Computing from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-Delhi). He was a very bright student in school and college, always at the top of his class.

Atul Prakash was a Hindu boy born and brought up in the small village of Manglaon near Rajpur Prakhand in Buxar district of Bihar. His father Ashok Kumar Rai is the chief engineer in the construction department of the East Central Railway Zone in Hajipur, Bihar, while his mother Babita Rai is a housewife.

He has a younger brother and younger sister, Shrishti, who works at ITC in Bangalore.
Profession
After graduation, he started preparing for the UPSC examination. In 2016, he cleared the UPSC exam in the first attempt with a rank of 558 and started working in Railway Services where he joined in February 2018, but to improve his rank, he started preparing for the UPSC 2017 again exam and as a result, now he secured 4th rank in the Indian National UPSC exam in his second attempt.
