Ayesha is already a mother to children Riley (11), Ryan (8) and Canon (5) with her NBA star husband Steph.

Last month, the proud mom revealed the exciting baby news, writing an essay for Sweet July magazine. In the article, Ayesha referred to being told she had an “elderly pregnancy” when she went to one of her doctor’s appointments.

“What was interesting was my doctor’s appointments,” she explained. “I’m in my 30s, and there’s all this paperwork that goes into that experience as a ‘pregnancy pregnancy’ and all the worries that come with it.”

“I think there’s something that needs to be more nuanced when it comes to women, their age, and conversations about having children. A lot of women in their 30s and 40s are going through this for the first time, and when they’re told you’re ‘ old’ seems alarming and wild. I think the narrative needs to shift a bit.”

She also mentioned that this pregnancy will be her last.

“But one of the biggest differences [of this pregnancy] is a new understanding that this really does pass in the blink of an eye,” she said. “And in the blink of an eye, it could all be taken away, too. It encouraged me to slow down and take every little thing into account – especially considering this is my last pregnancy.”

Although she explained that at first she and her husband thought they were “done” with children, this year they decided that “someone was missing.”
