Ayo Edebiri went bold for glamor at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards — and proved once again that she’s a star on and off the screen with her stylish return to the star-studded awards show on September 15.
Bear the actress, 28, wore a colorful strapless Bottega Veneta design (from the pre-spring ’25 collection) that was covered in custom red, black, marigold and black starfish sequins. The dress also had a sexy slit that almost hit her waist.

Speaking to Laverne Cox at E!’s preview, Edebiri said of her mosaic design: “It was perfect as soon as I saw the sketches. Danielle Goldberg, my stylist, said it really reminded her of Gaetano Pesce, this amazing Italian artist who just passed away and I’m getting Nollywood vibes too.”
Edebiri completed the bold look with shiny black sandals that matched her pedicure and striking gold earrings.
Her hair was styled in romantic waves using Covet & Mane hair extensions and Maui Moisture products. Her hairstylist Miles Jeffries described the look as “a modern take on ’70s brushed soft textured waves” with some Solange Knowles influence.

While chatting with Cox, the comedian also talked about her evolving style, which has broken the internet on more than one occasion. “I started doing stand-up comedy. My uniform was big pants, big shirt. That was my life. It was definitely still a costume, but yeah, things have definitely changed, so it’s nice to play in this space. ”

Edebiri was nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Sydney Adamu on FX Bear. The role earned her an Outstanding Supporting Actress award at the 75th Primetime Emmys in January — her first Emmy win.

At the event, Edebiri topped the best-dressed list thanks to her custom black leather fit and flare Louis Vuitton dress, a last-minute change she said “turned a mistake into a miracle” on the carpet. As for her accessories, she rocked a Brilliant Earth Diamond Tennis Necklace, 9CT Certified Lab Grown Diamond Earrings, and an Emerald Eternity Diamond Ring.

The series swept 2,024 nominations, setting a new record for nominations in a single year in the comedy category with 23 nominations (the record was previously held by 30 Rock with 22 nominations in 2009).

Edebiri’s rise to fame has also allowed her to blossom as a style star. In May 2024 The lower part the actress made her Met Gala debut in a Loewe floral backless gown designed by Jonathan Anderson. The floor-length gown — which cascaded from white to full-color ombre floral detailing — perfectly fit the “Garden of Time” dress code.
