When questioned by the media, he initially admitted he had written the letter but later said it was fake. He accused someone of forging the letter to create a divide between him and Priyank Haggar. He said in an interview,

The letter allegedly written to the Chief Minister is fake. Someone used my fake letterhead to make this letter go viral. I have a serial number on my letterhead. This is a copy of the letterhead I had when I was previously MLA. It has the residential address of Shanti Nagar. The new letterhead had the address of Akka Mahadevi’s colonial residence. The purpose of this letter is to create a rift between myself and Minister Priyank Haq. I will complain to SP about this. The BJP may do so. “

Furthermore, he criticized insurance companies for charging high premiums but offering meager payouts when farmers made claims, while the companies themselves made huge profits.
