Joe Amabile had an impressive streak Dancing with the starsbut reaching the semi-finals is not exactly the most memorable part of his experience.
In the episode of December 17 Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Amabile, 38, and his wife, Serena Pitt, welcomed reigning champions Jenna Johnson and Joey Graziadei, but before they could dive into the couple’s incredible season, Amabile asked Johnson about her near-death experience when they were together in 27th season.
“Jenna, remember when I almost broke your neck?” Amabile asked his former partner with whom he competed but was eliminated in the semi-finals.

The irony of the accident was that Johnson said the performance was Amabile’s “best dance” of the show.
“It was the finishing move. We had, like, one lift. It was the finishing move,” she recalled. “He put his hand in the wrong place. And I was, like, going to do a backflip.”
Of course, the backflip didn’t happen because Amabile happened to have her arms in “the only position I couldn’t get her up.” He said the mistake he made was the only thing Johnson warned him about. “Like, just don’t do it. And that’s what I did.”
“But we survived. I didn’t break my neck,” Johnson said, apparently not resentful.
