Alum Bachelor Nation Katie Thurston has breast cancer.
34-year-old-Koji was a competitor in season 25 Bachelor’s And the star BakeloretSeason 17 – she announced a diagnosis in the “life update” on Saturday, February 15th, thanking her fiancé, comedian Jeff Arcura and stating that she was “ready to fight it”.
In an emotional post on Instagram, Bakeloret Alum shared two photos of herself a smiling and long -lasting inscription, which started with “Life Update: I have breast cancer.”
“Yesterday I saw that all couples were announcing their Valentine’s Day celebration. I felt enviable if I was honest,” she continued. “Jeff took me to Hawaii and after that, we went to travel the world before we finally planted the roots in NYC. But instead, my Vdyay spent a coordinate place to live because I have to return to LA for more testing and treatment. ”
Instead of celebrating a holiday with Arcuri, Thurston “took advantage of his morning to determine the insurance for NYC and the laws on existing conditions,” she wrote. “I have scheduled meetings for another biopsy, fertility, mental health, surgery, as well as a meeting with my team to discuss the overall treatment plan, which will include chemotherapy.”
Thurston was diagnosed with cancer two weeks before the post, she revealed, writing that “she had a series of emotions” during this period. “Despair. Anger. Sadness. Denial. And then the strength, “she wrote.” Intentionally. Ready. I cried a lot. I tried to even make a video instead of this post, and I couldn’t. ”

“But one thing I did early,” she wrote, “was a search [for] Other stories like mine. Other young women with breast cancer. Invasive ductal cancer. Mastectomy. Pregnancy after breast cancer. All their stories helped. So I intend to be the same for others. ”
“This is the first day of sharing and it will be long,” Thurston wrote. “This first step of accepting my reality was the hardest. But I’m ready to fight it.”
The former Bachelorette concluded her post thanks to her “extraordinary husband what she is”, writing that she “saved the best last.”
“I don’t know how to do that without you,” she wrote about Arcura. “The selfless love that you have suppressed me is beyond all that I have imagined to be blessed. I love you to the end in this life and the next one. 🤍.”
