After serving five years in the Indian Army, Badal started his career in the private sector with a manufacturing company. Badal started his career in 1998 as the Deputy General Manager of JK Tire & Industries Ltd.; he worked there for nearly nine years before choosing commercial real estate in 2007. In 2007, he was appointed Vice President (VP) of Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL – a real estate services company), Bangalore. He served as Vice President for three years before being appointed Managing Director of JLL’s Chennai office in January 2011, where he served till March 2014. He was transferred to JLL’s NCR location as Managing Director; he left JLL in February 2017, completing a tenure of more than six years as Managing Director. In April 2017, he joined Cushman & Wakefield as a managing director and served until August 2023.

On August 17, 2023, he was appointed as CEO of Colliers Corporation, Gurgaon, Haryana. After joining Colliers, Badal Yagnik issued a statement,
