At the age of 16, he wrote a story for the Indian newspaper Amar Ujala and received a money order worth rupees. 15 for it. Within a short period of time, he became a well-known Indian political journalist. While working for Zee News, he also served as Uttar Pradesh Bureau Chief. He has hosted many Hindi news programs as a news reporter including News top 10, Hindustan Hamara, Crime Reporter, Kaun Hai, Top 20 reports, Superfast 200 and Nonstop Superfast. Capri hosted a live television program about Arif and Gudiya (a Muslim couple; 2004).

He worked as a producer and anchor of the weekly news program “Ek Aur Nazariya” which was telecast on Zee India TV in 1998. In this program, he made documentaries on Dalai Lama, Homosexuality, Euthanasia, Doms of Benares, Mahakumbh. Allahabad. During his tenure, he also produced the documentary Agrisadu of Haridwar, which according to media sources was the first documentary on Agrisadu to be aired on television. From 1999 to 2001, he served as producer of Zee News morning show “Morning Zee”. In 2002, he was promoted as output editor of Zee News.
